I had to make yet another detour in my plans. Still working on compiling all the graphics, but after getting to the bosses like you see above, I ended up needing to figure out how to get them onto the screen. They aren’t like sprites. Much of their graphics are drawn onto the background layer, which would actually interfere with the levels, since they use them. I had to develop a method to integrate them together, where one can run, but I can throw in these “shapes” when necessary. This is just a test to see what it would look like if they were drawn on the secondary layer. Drawing them on the main layer would cut into the level, and you’d see them encased in a black box, but of course, they are meant to be against a black background like in the original.
